Overview

Earth has seven continents: Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America. It also has five oceans: the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Southern and Arctic. A map is a flat picture of a place. A globe is a round model of the whole Earth. Maps use cardinal directions - north, south, east and west - to help us describe where things are.
